Information we collect

When you subscribe to the MPC newsletter, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name. When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, enquiry category, and message. For either form, the application creates a keyed hash from your IP address. The website database stores this hash, rather than the raw address, with the submission and in security rate-limit records.

How we use it

Newsletter details are used to confirm your subscription and deliver MPC updates. Contact details are used to read and respond to your enquiry. We use the hashed value to limit repeated requests, reduce automated abuse, and protect message and email delivery capacity. We do not sell this information or use it for unrelated advertising.

Where it is stored

Newsletter and contact information submitted through this website is stored on MPC’s hosting account and can be accessed only by authorized personnel. Contact-form details are also stored in MPC’s Formspree account and delivered to MPC’s Google Workspace email so staff can receive and respond to your enquiry. Google Workspace also processes newsletter recipient addresses for authenticated email delivery. These service providers process information as needed to operate the website and deliver messages.

Third-party content

Pages load the Atkinson Hyperlegible typeface from Google Fonts, and the Contact page includes an embedded Google Map. When these resources load, your browser connects directly to Google, which may receive technical request information such as your IP address, browser or device details, and referring page. Google handles that information under its own privacy terms. MPC’s address is also provided in text, so the map is not required to find or contact us.

Essential cookies and preferences

The public website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Essential security cookies may be used when you interact with protected website features. Theme and accessibility preferences are stored locally in your browser so they can persist between pages.

Your choices

Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. You may also ask us to correct or delete your information by emailing admin@paralympic.org.mv.

Retention and security

Active newsletter subscriptions are retained while you remain subscribed. In the website database, unconfirmed subscriptions become eligible for deletion after 30 days, unsubscribed records after 90 days, and contact messages after 365 days unless a retention hold is required. Hashed IP values attached to those records follow the same record retention; separate rate-limit records and stored form IP hashes become eligible for cleanup after 2 inactive days and expiry of any security lock. Recipient addresses in completed delivery-queue records are redacted after 180 days. Formspree, Google Workspace, server logs, and backups have separate retention procedures. We use account access controls, encrypted connections, authenticated email delivery, and restricted server folders to protect information.
