About MPC
Founding & History
The Maldives Paralympic Committee (MPC) was established in 2019 as the national body for Paralympic sport and is a member of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and Asian Paralympic Committee (APC).
MPC exists to establish and develop Paralympic sports in the Maldives in collaboration with National Sports Associations, promoting inclusivity and providing equal sports opportunities to persons with disabilities.
Recognized in Maldivian law as an independent legal entity with full authority, MPC promotes Paralympic values under the IPC's constitution and guidelines and represents the Maldives in Paralympic and Para Games internationally.
Since its founding, MPC has achieved historic milestones — including an international para-athletics gold medal in 2023 and the nation's first Asian Youth Para Games medal in Dubai in 2025.
