MPC Newsletter 03 — Classification Knowledge Exchange in Moscow

Dr. Mandhoof Moosa is joining an international knowledge exchange with NPC Russia to strengthen classification expertise.

Dr. Mandhoof Moosa, Chief National Classifier of the Maldives Paralympic Committee, is participating in an international knowledge exchange visit in Moscow, Russia, at the invitation of NPC Russia.

The visit provides an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience relating to Para sport classification and to further strengthen technical expertise in this important area of the Paralympic Movement.

Classification plays a central role in Para sport by establishing athlete eligibility and creating an appropriate structure for fair and meaningful competition. Developing strong national expertise in classification is therefore essential as the Maldives continues to expand opportunities for athletes to participate in Para sport at both national and international levels.

International exchanges also allow professionals working within the Maldivian Para sport system to learn from established practices, develop professional networks and bring relevant knowledge back to the Maldives.

Dr. Mandhoof's participation contributes to the Maldives Paralympic Committee's wider efforts to strengthen local classification capacity and develop the technical systems required to support Para athletes throughout their sporting journey.

The Maldives Paralympic Committee will continue to pursue opportunities for international cooperation, professional development and knowledge exchange as part of its commitment to building a stronger and more sustainable Para sport system in the Maldives.
