Local Leaders Course 2026 concludes
The three-day course brought participants together to strengthen athlete pathways, leadership and sustainable Para sport programmes across the Maldives.
The Maldives Paralympic Committee concluded the Local Leaders Course 2026, held from 29 to 31 August. The programme was facilitated by Ms. Lyn Hazel, IPC SfM Development Specialist.
Participants explored athlete development pathways, stakeholder and resource mapping, funding and sustainability, and ways to expand opportunities beyond Malé. Discussions also focused on turning plans into practical activities and measuring their results.
The course supported the development of local leadership and stronger Para sport programmes, from community participation to higher levels of competition.
MPC thanked the International Paralympic Committee, the Maldives National Institute of Sports, the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fitness, and all participants for their contributions.
